Grasshopper - This is a fabulous service that will allow you to have a dedicated or toll free number to any state in the USA. You can use this system for text and fax.

Ring Central- Ring Central is an international service that pretty much allows you to connect anywhere from anywhere. Unlike GCS and Grasshopper, you can actually execute calls from a ring central line. You can also run an entire phone room with Ring Central.

Google Voice - Google Voice is great for if you're starting out. It's free however, you may not be able to use it for some things. Some services will require you to use a different number.
